I was ALMOST really impressed with the D2...

This was only my 3rd time out and Im still playing around with different settings on the beach. Actually I was VERY impressed when I first took the D2 out on the wet sand.
I had expected lots of chattering like all other machines. However, there was hardly any and I only needed to make minor adjustment to run the machine very quiet.

In over 20 years of beach hunting, I really cant recall finding a gold stud earring in the wet, salt sand. Found lots of hoop gold and silver studs but not a gold one. Today was the day !!! So I thought.
It sure looked good without a magnifier......Back to the car and crap, that new ion, gold plating and marked 925 China !!!! It still was a thrill to almost find gold. I did have fun today as it was an earring kinda day.
Found 4 in total. The other stud is 925, hoop is probably junk, the post is missing and the other hoop was eyeballed on the surface, definitely junk. We had some big surface this morning and it brought in a
ton of sand but at least there were targets today. Yesterday, dead as door nail.

I think Im really going to like this machine. Did well with bottle cap rejection except for the Modelo with aluminum foil on the cap. Did dig a rusty Corona but otherwise, the broken signals you knew were caps.

Just the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Hey Donna(NJ), I do not have the D2 right now. I tend to hang back on new releases to see how they fare. I research a lot. I do have an ORXand a friend of mine has the D2. So we cross check many signals . I must say the D2 will hit on some targets that are deeper than the ORX. I have made some great finds with the ORX but see a D2 in my future. The only thing I don’t like about the ORX is it’s Audio limitations . TheD2 probably takes more time to learn , but will reward you once you learn it .HH Tony

Get a DEUS 1 with a coil you do not have because they will work on both the ORX and DEUS 1
9" LF and 11" LF will not work on the ORX
The DEUS ! #9 HOT program is really good and a good used one is half the price of a DEUS 2

I had a Deus 1 for many years. Basically bought it for my England hunting. Found me my very first gold coin, my avatar. Love the D1. Always wished Deus would make a machine that runs in wet, salt sand. My dream came true. I beach hunt 99% of the time.

My Equinox failed for the 2nd time after only 4 years of use. Cost to fix $350 to replace control unit. That pushed me over the hump to buy the D2. I have several friends who have them. Reports were great. With 5 year warranty and MUCH better build quality, it was an easy choice. Now in my golden years, its time to spend all that money I saved up for retirement !!!!

It is wonderful to me when someone gets a new detector and bonds with it right away. Best of luck to you!

I hope you enjoy your new machine.I will be taking my d2 July 1 up to Lake Michigan for 14 days of testing.

My Deus 2 on the first beach I tried was very noisy lots of iron and Reddish to purple sand.
My Nox quiet as can be ?signals load and clear also on the nox my Deus struggles to hit a nice clean tone ?

I got to use my D2 last week end in an empty Campground site that was loaded with visitors on Memorial Day weekend.
In P 4 and 5 it worked great - Not one Crown Cap or Aluminum Cap. Only Pennies-Dimes and Quarters. I am hoping the machine and I mesh together well.
You know - One needs to interpret what the machine is telling you too.
I did test my Makro Kruzer for comparison and the EMI was horrendous so I put it away. I am hoping there is no mechanical failure on the Kruzer.
Earlier this year I was testing the D2 many times on the sands of Lake Huron and It worked well.
