General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

I Think I Have Bought My Last Tesoro

I bought a new Tejon years ago and it wouldn't ground balance. I guess the ground balance pot was bad. I sent it in and of course they fixed it, but to open a new machine and not have it work properly is frustrating.

I don't think any brand is immune to producing dud/defective units, it happens across the board.
But you can get quite upset with the amount of discrepancy between Tesoro units. Sour Tejon's vs really hot sparky Tejon's ect. Cibola's correlation with it's own stock coil can be way off, as were a lot of the earlier pre-set balance units like Conquistador and Silvers and Sabre's.

Ask an old Tesoro dealer, as most opened every box and tested every unit for the keeping of 'good hot' detectors for themselves and friends/good customers.
Yep, Tesoro has always suffered from quality control. The Eldorado's and Bandito's from the original to the micromax version were probably the most stable in quality across the entire range.

Would your dealer have paid for shipping back to him and let him replace the units with new ones ? That is what I do for my customers ! Customer don't order a new detector just to open it up and send it back to the factory to be fixed on their dime!!!!!

I can attest Richard absolutely takes care of his customers who happen to get a bad product.. No questions asked either.....
 
That's what puts Richard above everyone else! He takes care of the customer...before. ..during and after the sale!
 
I watched a video on a MD that has owned a number of units.
How he mentioned another company out of box issue.
Others had same issue.
They told him to open unit and do something to it.
