I joined the first board because I love to detect, and it has been fun being around others who have the same interest.

I have really enjoyed everyone, for the first time, I have not been judged on the color of my skin, only that detecting was in my blood.

I have not been posting because of all the politics on this board, I have been sick of politics...

I wish I could get to know Magar better, she would be so awesome to hunt with, and it is so cool that a woman has been kicking butts in the metal detecting..

Well, as I said, I am leaving this board, really not gonna let the door slam me in the butt... I am not welcomed here... and I will tell you why...

This is a metal detecting board, I didnt think it was a political board, so since I dont like politics, I dont want to be here..

I always find it comical to hear men bytch about abortion.. as if they really know what a woman who was raped goes through, specially when she learns she is pregnant.. I have witnessed this with a dear friend, and though I do not believe in abortion, I do not believe in forcing my views on others, and I would not have been a friend to her if I told her what to do... I remained a friend, and stood beside her with the decission she made, it was her choice to make, not mine and not yours.

I hope that none of you have to experiance someone you love getting raped, worse, being impregnated from such a horrible crime... Now a days, when a woman is raped, they give her "the morning after" pill, which, if seed did meet the egg, the pill prevents the growing tissue from implanting, but really, the morning after pill is yet another way of abortion... specially for those who consider life begins at conception..

OK ya all hate Obama... I didnt vote for Dubya the first time, but he was our president, and I supported him, I didnt vote for dubya the second time, and I really tried to see his point of view, but some how, the longer he was in office, the worse our economy became, gas hit over 4.00 a gallon in many towns, could Dubya being a oil man have something to do with those out of control oil prices?? Humm I an only wonder...

Yes, I hate politics, it makes people fight, can make enemies out of friends..

I dont own a bible, I dont have one in my house, in fact, I dont want one, and I dont believe in the "bible"... this does not make me a bad person.. I respect anyone who does believe, and FOLLOWS their beliefs... but I really find too many people who claim to be christians are hypocrites.. you know, like that Dog the Bounty Hunter guy... gives the prayer then cusses up a storm when he finds his bail jumper... sheesh..

Well for all the BS about where Obama was born, sheesh.... it would not matter if he were born on the moon, fact is, his mother is a US citizen, born in Kansas, that makes Obama a US citizen..

Me, being Indian, I have duel citizenship with Canada... I was born in Kansas, yet my federal ID card (something only Indian people are required to have) gives me an automatic citizenship to Canada.. I aint never been there, it is a bit cold for me. But would that prevent me from running or being President? I cant find any law that says I cant...

People are running wild with rumor, falsehoods they are trying to present as facts.. but here is one true fact....

Obama has not been in office a full week yet, no one has even given him a chance, you people want to jump up and down and holler about him, and you havent even given him a chance!

Now what, what you going to do if Obama winds up making your life better in three, four, five, or six years? You going to come here and make a public apology and say you were wrong? I am sure no one here will be willing to eat crow or admit they are wrong..

Right or wrong, no matter who you supported for the office of president, everyone needs to come forward and help get our country back in shape. Show some respect, think of the future generations who will follow behind us. Stop being selfish wondering about what is going to happen to you and start being worried about the future of your grandchildren, and their children... This country didnt get screwed up over night, and it aint gonna get repaired by itself any faster, dont make those of us who are willing to work for a better tomorrow haul around those who want to sit and be do nothings..

Magar.. please email me at kdenning@cox.net I love your hunting stories and pictures

We are like family here and every now and then we have our arguments but it that's what makes us individuals. I resent the fact that you believe that none of us would be able to stand up and admit that we were wrong on an issue. I, for one, have made more than my share of apologies for something I have said or that was taken the wrong way so I take offense that you think that "I" wouldn't be man enough to admit my mistake.

Abortion is NOT to used as a form of birth control ! I am sorry that your friend had to go through this and even under the Bush administration she was still allowed to have an abortion because of the rape. That has nothing to do Obama's recent decisions to open the flood gates once again for people to have abortions just because a pregnancy was an inconvenience.

I am also part American Indian, Cherokee, and I do not believe that I should be given anything. The harder you work and take responsibility of your own actions, the better off you will be. I did not vote for the Messiah because his lack of experience (he was only present for 44 days as an elected official) and I'm sure we are going to be seeing a heck of a lot more flip-flopping on his watch than any other.
Last but not least, everyone has his decisions to make but you really need to find a church that you can share beliefs in and read the bible. You'll feel a lot better overall.

Good luck in all you do.

Sincerely,
therick

... Everyone is welcome on the forum regardless of one's political views ... so long as the "views" aren't at such a high and vendictive level that the views over take and become the format of the forum ... please read the advice to new comers to this forum. The political opinions expressed seem to be concentrated around election times .... which seems to be endless now that all elected offices seem to be running for office 24/7/365.

It is obvious that you are much more left wing liberal in your thinking than this forum's majority of right wing thinking conservatives. I can understand that would make enjoyment of this forum difficult for you. All of us tend to want to be with folks that enjoy the same things. Hopefully you'll find a detecting forum that meets your needs. We'll leave the light on for you in case you return. Good luck / happy hunting.

you stated that you don't think anyone will be willing to eat Crow, you may be wrong about that. Have you seen some of Elson's cooking?

That's what makes this country great, the freedoms that we have, won by Americans, white, black, red, brown or so-called yellow. This country has embraced people from all Nations including the original American Indian Nations. By the way, almost everyone I know of in this country is proud to claim any American Indian heritage they have, I know I am. The tides of opinions change frequently depending on the way the way our Country's fortunes go. "Dubya", as you call our former President (which I think is a derogatory name, but you have the right to call him that) was not terribly popular at first and had one Hell of a challenge only months after his Inauguration with 9/11. He came through with flying colors and led this Country well.

Yes this country's economy has suffered tremendously, but it was brought on by the idiotic standards by the Clinton administration making it almost mandatory to grant home loans to anyone whether they had the ability to pay or not. That collapse is what started the decline. Too many houses were built and purchased by too many people who could not afford them with loans that they had only faint hopes of repaying. The "Land of the Free" doesn't mean that we don't have to repay. The surplus that Clinton said he left was only on paper and did not exist, it was a projected surplus and the economy was already in a hole.

Obama has been challenged on his birthright. I'm sorry, but you are wrong. Just because his mother was an American citizen, does not make a child born outside of this country a Citizen automatically. It is more complicated than that. His father was not a citizen of the U.S. and there is some doubt as to the location of his birth, which also has some bearing. The fact that his birth records, in Hawaii, have been sealed so that no one can see them, only serves to deepen the intrigue. All he need to do is produce them, and let them be proven to be legitimate.

As for having the guts to admit we are wrong, if we are, I have already told my daughter and her husband, who voted for Obama, that in coming years I hope I find it possible for me to say I was wrong. I hope to God they never have to say that they were wrong.

I hate to see anyone leave the forum because they got their feeling hurt or can't agree, so my question is this, do you have the guts to stay or are you going to run.

Well, too bad...your loss. You sound like you have many issues.
I just pass on by the political stuff. There is much more informative and interesting posts here regarding MD.

First of all, I resent you don't think "US MEN" know what it means for a woman to have an abortion. We know what it means to be a good Husband, Father and "Daddy". Those irresponsible enough to plant their seed and not care about the outcome are no better than the women who allow it to happen.

Secondly, as President of our country, it is in the Constitution that a President be a natural born citizen of this country. Mr. Obama has MANY things in his past that make him suspect to our trust and therefore we can NOT put our support in him. I didn't vote for Clinton AT ALL, and even wrote him a letter and TOLD him I knew him to be a liar. Gee...I was RIGHT!

Thirdly, I live in Alaska. We have a broader mix of races and creeds than just about any other state in the Union. We have Whites, Blacks all kinds of Native "Indians", Athabascans, Inuits, T'lingits, Aleuts...Not to mention Pacific Islanders such as Samoans and Fillipinos, and Guamanians, and also Refugees from Vietnam...and we ALL get along rather well, if I do say so myself. So don't blow that racial crap at me.

Lastly, if you don't stand up and allow your voice to be heard, you are part of the problem. There are far to many people that don't as you said..."bytch"....about the problems let alone stand up and fight for their beliefs, then we have to drag your sorry butt around as one of those who are what I like to call, "a Parasite to Freedom". This country wasn't founded on wishy washy gutless people that didn't stand up for their beliefs.

If you don't let the door hit you in the butt as you leave, that's good. Keeps us from having to clean it.

It can be said that I am on the other side of the political fence from you. And quite frankly, I would really like to see all the politics move off of this forum and be posted and debated where they belong, on the VIEWS FORUM. That being said, I have replied to some political posts that have shown up here recently and in the future I will not.

I'd rather see Ed or Charlie get their somewhat, umm, colorful posts deleted and the chatter that goes on with them that come here and read about politics too.

I really liked your posts when you did first post here on a regular basis and wish you would reconsider, take some time off, and come back here and rejoin the family here. We all have our views and many here are in the conservative area. But don't let that discourage you from posting your finds and sharing your love for a hobby that we all enjoy. Jeeze even I get tired of hearing about Ray and his damned scary love affair with the Mac. But that won't make me stop posting here and enjoying others on this forum hobby adventures.

If not for this forum, I would probably have never had the opportunity to meet Ed, Craig, Jim, and Vernon. And I'm sure one of these days I will be blessed, (or cursed) when I meet Elson.

You are welcome here, regardless of where you stand. We are all detectorists and are a quirky family here. Don't leave because all of us do not see eye-to-eye on all things, political or otherwise. If we all did agree on everything then how boring would that be.

a brief hiatus is one thing, don't be offended, we all have our turn in the chair here, if you leave there is no chance to get even................

For someone who doesn't want to talk politics, you sure gave us your opinion. So if I read that right, you want to express your opinion but not have us express ours? What makes American great is the ability and the RIGHT for people to discuss opposing ideas and philosophies. I frequent Online Gaming Forums, Coin Collecting Forums, Religious Forums, Investing forums, and more. Every one of them has a political thread and discusses politics through out all the topics.

I want to answer your abortion issue. As a man, I know as much about an abortion as any woman. Rape? My sister was raped by her commanding officer in the US Army. The same officer that is willing to go out and die on the battle field for his country. I have been married twice, both of my wives has an abortion before I married her, and they both told me of the mental and emotional anguish they live with every day. Three of our daughters teenage girlfriends have gotten pregnant in the past year and the first place they come to is MY HOUSE. My wife and I council them, tell them what to expect and what to they will have to deal with. All three decided to terminate and we were there for them, even though we did not agree with their decision. Were the Pro Abortion folks around? HELL NO. They just want the "slash and dash" and don't care about the young woman. My first wife got pregnant by a good friend of mine (hence the divorce). I assisted her in interviewing couples to adopt the child and went through the entire adoption process with her, the other couple, and the father. Although I was understandably VERY ANGRY with my wife and my good friend, AT NO TIME DID I BLAME THE CHILD SHE WAS CARRYING. As an aside, that child, a boy, will turn 17 years old this year. I could give more stories, but that is enough.

You appear to be one of those "Kool-Aid drinkers", swallowing whatever Barry Obama gives you. 57,000,000 Americans saw through his empty suit and voted against him. Many of us did not even like John McCain, he is just a Democrat in Republican's coat. But Obama is actually very dangerous for this country. Here is a letter I sent to the editor of our local paper today.
