I have tried a lot of detectors.........".In recent months".

My two favorites are Teknetics T2 & Fisher F75.

Well built, excellent depth, stable operation, absolutely the most comfortable of any I used.

These two (2) detectors can hunt just about any area you want to detect on Land. I do not water hunt that much so can only say this..The T2 will hunt a Great Lakes beach with 0 problems. So will the F75........... For me.."and notice ", I said for (me), these two make a sensational combination for all around detecting.

I do still like the Whites XLT for local clad hunting in Parks and schools.

I would suggest anyone interested in making a change in machines check out the F75, and or T2, or both... You too may be very surprised at the ease of operation and extreme depth..

Aw c'mon now Elton--Your just haven't come to fully appreciate the Minelabs & those fine little Tesoros!--Each to his own I guess-that's why they make so many detectors, personal preference.--What ever one (detector) works for a person & he or she is happy with it-I say GO FOR IT!!-------Del

Elton, I have to say that I look forward to your opinions of a new detector. I know you have tried most detectors made and the two you just mentioned are great detectors. I also have tried both of these detectors and I am really fond of the T2. The T2 is really known for it's relic hunting ability, but I found it to be a deep accurate coin hunter. If Minelab could lighten the Explorers, I would say they would be near perfect. I think the next detector I purchase will be a T2. I only sold the first one because of the lack of a small coil. Please keep us posted on what you like and don't like about detectors. R.L.

Tesoro..I am so under qualified to speak about how a Tesoro works I never mention them..I have only used a couple in my Detecting life.. They worked fine and thats a fact...I just happen to prefer a ID machine and the Deleon and Cortes just did not have good ID on them.. Good depth though.. Minelab now thats an issue with me..I have tried and tried and can not get the results with a Minelab that I read on the forums..Not even close...I get nothing but frustrated when attempting to use them.Lots of people love em..and more power to them..I know they work well..I just can't work them well.....I also do not like huge over weight coils and thats what it seems to take for getting the max depth with the Minelabs...This post made by me was not a bashing post... More a I like the two detectors I use T2 and F75..and if a person hasn't tried them, and their not real happy with what their using maybe a T2, or F75 would work for them like it does me..Maybe Not..

You may be right a little less on the weight might make a difference with the Minelab to me. But the weight is there, and I don't like it..Plus it seems to me you have to add more weight for great depth with a bigger coil. ?????????????????????????

Seems to be just want I want in a relic machine...great depth, expanded iron range, great ergonomics, fantastic audio system, easy to setup with a great user interface, super quick recovery time... I could go on but you get the idea. This is the right machine for me.

Hi Elton, I love my tesoros (incl. DeLeon), and I've had good success with my Minelab X Terra 70. Had an Explorer and it was too heavy for me. Good machine but I didn't enjoy hunting with it because of the weight. Have read a fair bit about the Fisher F 70, F75 & Technetics T2, and reports have been very good. I bought the F4 because it is my first Fisher Detector, and so I bought at the low end of the range to see if I like the style.
Have to give it a big thumbs up at this stage. I would say that unless some of the other companies come out with something extraordinary and light, my next detector will be an F70. Only trouble at the moment is having time to use all the detectors I have.:)

I've been pushing the all round abilities of the T2 for some time but must point out that build quality was poor with the early models and depth has gradually been improved up to that of the F75 in the latest version.

If buying secondhand you have to check that you are getting a later model and one that hasn't been abused. Lack of care when swing either detector with a larger coil can lead to the handgrip/stem parting company with the main shaft.

hi EL. i'm glad that you take the time to post up your thoughts about different machines that you've been trying and your experiences with them. it does many of us a lot of good. i'm with you - the t2 and f75 are great machines, among the best available. i'm sticking with my tesoro tejon and cibola - they're awesome machines too. my pardner olddigger recently bought an f70, and it's an awesome machine. he gets better with it every time we get out. i really gotta start watching him now! hh,

Elton,Louis, makes a good point. Its good to see someone express their opinions about metal detectors that they have used.As most of you know my favorites are the Explorer and Sovereign.Like you and your T2 .When I use the Sovereign after taking a break from this unit I really appreciate this older Minelab. My last hunt I worked an area covered by two V3s and my Explorer the Sovereign retrieved about a dozen wheat's and a couple silver dimes left by me and the other two hunters.By the way looking forward to the hunt in Gallipolis Ohio in a couple of weeks. HH Ron

Thears no doubt , the t2 and f75 are top of the line machines if i had the money i would have one just cant aford it

IMO the F75 is just a newer verion of the T2, I own a F75, but when I want to hunt the DEEP silver I grab the Explorer.

Hi Elton the F75 is my go to machine and really like it .I had it about a year now. I hunt mostly 2 tone disc 0 - 6 but i just started running 1 tone in a field that we have hit
and got the easy targets . 1 tone works great in low trash sites slowed down and unmasking in iron . I do like to try machines to see what works for me . You can read all the
posts in the world but until you try it you wont know. I do wish the T2 / F75 had a bigger selection of coils but i can manage with what thy have . HH Mike
