I Have Questions - WD-40 For Coil to Control Box Connector Edition

OK... Should I spray my coil connector with a small dab of WD-40 to preserve and maintain good connection; or is this really required?

Any ideas? Any suggestions?
What do you guys and gals use to maintain the connector and prevent corrosion?

WD-40 tends to dry out over time and become gummy. I would use a silicon spray if anything.

There is something meant specifically for this application. It is called DEOXIT. It can be found at Radio Shack.

What I use as I used to repair TV and radios and found a good contact cleaner from your local Electronic store that worked great for me, Many of the older rotary controls with get statistic when you turned them and this contact cleaner worked great. Radio shack is on line for most, but they should have some..
