I have decided to keep my M-6 and not buy a tesoro at this time

Sounds like a pretty bad back. You could use a Prizm for most of your hunting. It beats not hunting at all. Then whip out the m6 on occasion if you encounter some bad ground. You can try the 5.3 coil like Monte suggested.

As I mentioed earlier in the post move the shaft it works. I'm running both my MXT and IDX in the 3th hole . The pain is no longer there. Rob
 
Maybe it's not the detecting.Maybe it's the digging.The way you place pressure, bend, squat and dig.Try a new digger and see what that does for you.
You may need something sharper or longer so you do not have to push as hard for ground penetration... Just a thought !!
