I have aquestion concerning the Minelab X-Terra Elite

I have been considering getting an Equinox 600 for the lighter weight and the fewer bells and whistles that I feel I don't need. Then, Bam....the Minelab X Terra Elite shows up. I really like the looks of this detector and the overall set up. This looks like a lot of technology for a fair price. I have not however, been able to find any videos of the X Terra being used for U.S. CW relic hunting . There seems to be a lot of videos for beach and coin hunting using the X Terra, but non for relic hunting. Does anyone here happen to own the X Terra Elite and have used it for relic hunting?, know of anyone that has?, or have seen any videos of the X Terra being used for relics? This machine is supposed to be good for relics, but no video's? This is sort of discerning. If anyone has any further info, I would certainly appreciate any feed back. Thanks, Confetrit'

I Used New Elite For Relic Hunting in V.a. Great Depth More Stable VDI Vs X-Terra Sport. Elite More Sen to Small Deeper Targets Due Mulf /Feq and Better in Hotters Soils then Sport, the Iron Bias setting great feature. I traded my X-Terra Sport to dealer I purchased and paid difference for New Elite! the Elite in depth from dealer in same as Minlab 600. 700 you see little more depth id buy 900 and Manicore few inches deeper and better VDI on Super Deep targets. Dollar for Doller you cant go wrong buying Elite for Relic Hunt many other Model have more "Bels' and adjustment but dont help in Relic hunting. Hope find this info Helpful, If you buy one I give tips for Relic Hunting. Chuck

Thanks for your reply bigchuckinva. I have just about made my mind up on the Elite. I may be pulling the trigger here one day hopefully soon. I already know with whom I'll be dealing with when the time comes. I'm glad to hear that you have done well with your Elite. Happy Hunting and Continued Success to you.

Stay away from the Nox 600 & 800. They were plagued with numerous build problems. That's why they came out with the 700 & 900 !!! My 600 lasted all of 3 years and went through 3 batteries because it was giving me a battery error. There was no way to fix the control unit except to replace it, The cost was close to a new unit !!!

I presently have an Xterra pro because I could use my 600 coil on it which made it more stable.

Looks like Minelab and Nokta are in head to head competition and each new machine is pretty much similar to the opposition.
Getting tough to weigh the features vs price. However, Im leaning towards the Nokta because I don't trust the build quality of Minelab. Minelab was never known for quality
but they were the only ones that worked in the wet, salt, environment. Surely made up for cost with the number of gold rings I found in the good old days !!!

Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for your reply and input. It is appreciated. Happy Hunting.

Have had the X-Terra Pro for over a year, I'm strictly a relic hunter and I had a Nox 800 before that. The pro is a great machine, found 3 ringers 12" and really sensitive
Great news to hear. This is info that I have been looking for. It sounds as if the depth of a lead minnie' ball would be pretty much the same depth (max.) that I get with my Safari. I'm glad to hear you do well with the pro. I appreciate you taking time to reply, and Continued Success to you. Confetrit' (Kevin)
