Sweet machine!! There's another video on the tube that shows all the accessories that come with it...gotta get me one!! I'll definately want one of the smaller DD coils to put on my ATP(s)!! Wheeeeeee....more big boy toys!!

I gather the coils are interchangeable with the AT Pro? That little DD looks sweet.

I didn't understand the two discrimination modes.

I didn't understand the ground balance feature.

I guess we will get more videos.

And like my friend above: Price?

I did a little more research and I did see the price. Thank You. I tried to download the manual and got about 2/3 of it before it hung up.

Judging by what I read the two discrimination modes are:

Discrim 1: Basically all metal with med and high tone. Low tone can be iron depending on your discrimination of iron setting. No adjustments on the notch.

Discrim 2: Same tones with foil notched once and pulltabs notched twice. Basically a coin setting. No adjustments on the notch.

I'm not a nugget hunter. So unless it punches deeper than the AT Pro I'll keep what I have. But that little coil is looking good.

I C people waiting on brown trucks and airhead test:rofl:

Very interesting video. It does however raise a question about the At Pro. At 2:19 into the video the narrator says "This all metal iron audio as it's called, is not available on any other detector when running true all metal mode."

I must be missing something. I don't see the difference between what is shown on the video and running the At Pro in Pro Custom, Disc of 35 or 40 with the Iron Audio turned on. Either one will give target responses with VDI's ranging from 0 to 99.

I am sure they will shed some light on this as time goes by. It is starting to look like going to have an All Terrain series of detectors.

The settable threshold is a very nice feature.

I wonder if that 5X8 coil will become available for the At Pro?

I like it.

Here we go again! I see all of you people all excited about this detector and ready to shell out BOO COO bucks. I wonder how many trips back to the factory this model will require.

So much for anymore improvements to our AT Pro's. In effect, this machine makes our detectors into a dinosaur.

I bought an AT Pro the first of August I haven't even used it yet due to the heat. I should have waited another month could have got 18khz
and a threshold just my luck.

I do not agree. The biggest features of the At Gold as I see it are the settable threshold and changing the frequency from 15 to 18 Khz. I am sure there are other software changes and tweaks but it looks like they are expanding "All Terrain" into a product line just like the Ace or the GTI series. I think the At Pro is going to be relevant for a long time to come.

Discrim mode 1 is "zero" discrim mode (nothing notched out).
Discrim mode 2 is preset to the same notch pattern as the coins mode on the AT Pro. You can adjust iron discrimination in Discrim 1 and Discrim 2.
You cannot however, notch out any pixels in any of the 3 modes. The adjustment you can make in all 3 modes is the iron discrimination and Iron Audio is also available in the True All-Metal Mode. Just like the AT Pro, you have to have some iron discrimination set to use the Iron Audio feature.

I also like that 8" x 5" DD coil but will it be compatible with the AT Pro? The frequencies of the two units are not the same.

I betcha Garrett got the coil falsing, pinpoint and water leak problems worked out on this machine:thumbup:. If not , that would B stupid..

Threshold feature would be nice, but nothing else ground breaking here. Maybe for you gold-nugget folks.

The news here is that you apparently cannot select or deselect notch segments as John said. This is a big feature loss for coin hunting, IMHO.

Guess I won't be seeing the "invisibility cloak" feature I was hoping for.

Think you will be able to interchange pro and gold coils at least this is what I was told by some one at Garrett. Said my DD of pro would work on the gold
