The ring and others were found in a old barn and it was not in the same town as the POW camp but was roughly 10 miles away. Germans owned the original property so it probably had something to do with them or their relatives.

More likely then the items were hidden. Best not to ask too many questions of the family. It's probably something they'd rather not remember.
