I found a Manticore......

I found this yesterday while detecting around a football field. I showed it to my buddy last night and he told me it is a Manticore!!LOL
This is my second trip to this school and it has given up lots of quarters.
The first trip was a week ago and it appeared they just had a game there the Friday before as there was lots of trash laying about the place.
I searched only the grassy areas around the bleachers that day and found 90 quarters... many I could see before I even got the coil over them!!
Yesterday I went back, but it appears they had cleaned up after the last gave this past Friday.
I'm sure the cleanup crew found some quarters laying on top of the ground, but I still had a great day there finding another 45 and even a dollar coin... my 14th one this year.
I found quite a few just laying on top of the ground yesterday too, but not as many as the week before.

There are still plenty of coins out there, but I agree, in some areas they are getting very scarce.
In my last 5 outings, I have found 231 quarters.
Now this is during about 4-5 hours each time and I am not digging many penny and dime signals either.

That's massive quarter droppings....and cents, dimes and some nickels are probably there by the hundreds. Maybe change is rounded out to a quarter(s)? Helps out nicely on the gas. HH jim tn
