I never get a chance to shoot at anything big game wise much past 350 yds around here. For the big boys my .338 in a 24” M70 has been my go to. For bad weather days I have my 7mmRM in a 24” SS M70 with 160 Barnes maxed out. For deer, my 7x57 in 22” M70 Featherweight. For short range (under 250 yds) varmint I have a .223/5.56 in 16” Ruger American Ranch. Long range varmint a .22-250 in 26” bull barrel M70. I think I’m pretty well covered …… handguns, a longer story!
Side note: The 223 Ruger fits inside the width profile of my ATV so no bumping gate posts etc. Thinking of getting 350 Legend in same compact rifle….

Im looking into a 350 myself. I hunted a lot last year with my 444 marlin I love that little single shot

I started a thread on long range precision rifles a while ago....and it went virtually nowhere. I guess my timing was poor.

Living where I do, long range opportunities are somewhat scarce. I have to shoot either in the spring before crops are up, or fall after they've been taken down.
Anyway, for years I only had a Savage M-10 FPLE/2A .308, but a few years ago I set up a Howa 1500 6.5Creedmoor that's my primary LRR now.

Lucky you are in the US.
There are things here that we cannot have as civilians.
When I was in the army, I had a Mauser SP 66, Caliber 7.62x51 (308w) I was a sniper
On my personal endowment, I had a 5.56mm CETME LC
After retiring, as a sports shooter I had a US garand M1, a Mauser Kar 98, a 7.62x54 SVD Dragunov
When I stopped shooting sports, I had to surrender all the weapons. Here they do not allow you to have them as a civilian. The laws are very restrictive.
Now, I can only dream ... :cry2:

They're trying to take ours here. I'm not sure how that's going to turn out for them .

Siloh Sharp. Really beautiful. :clapping:
I wanted to get a 45-110, but it was impossible. In exchange I got a 54 caliber Hawken.
I've been holding out for a .50-140. I had .45-70 Greener Martini w/vernier tang rear sight & globe front sight w/34" barrel (1.25" across the flats), and an original Remington Rolling Block .50-70 carbine, but a .50-140 has always been my dream!

22.250 for me, there aren't any places to shoot much longer distances around here. It doesn't natter what you shoot its's like detecting know your machine and you can score. I shot a running coyote this summer at 175 yards with my 10 22 Ruger, 7th shot and hit him in the head, some skill, some luck, got the job done.

Do not despair. At least in the US you can get it. Here more and more restrictions.
Now I only have my old Toz 35 caliber 22 left for Olympic shooting at 50m
