Just kidding! I must say it is nice to see more of you all posting your finds and pictures of said goodies. With the heat index at 110 about all I can do is read about others good fortune and drool a bit lol.How do your V3 screens work in the dark? I am thinking night hunting at a proper site may be the way to beat this miserable heat

You can change the backlight from bright to really bright, I wish it was able to get dimmer. It is fine during the day but at night I lose all my night vision staring at the vdi numbers.

I know exactly what you mean. I just keep the back light up in my live controls with it on 1 and I turn it off while hunting and then if I get a good tone, I just hit the up arrow and look then turn it back down to 0.

I'd say Magic's solution is as good as any. Rob

Hi Ray,

The back light works great. I do mostly night hunting because of the crowds. I leace it on 1 as well. It is plenty bright enough.

I have a duplicate program setup with custom colors on my V3i that I can select for hunting in the dark.
You can go into cofigure and customize you background colors and select darker colors and your screen won't be so bright.

Try sticking a piece of thin dark plastic over the display sort of like a pair of sun glasses for detectors.

You might take a pair of black sheer women's hose and cut a section out, putting it over the screen. That will lessen the light. Just a thought.....

Why not use a reflective film like used on windows for keeping out sun light. Yazoo
