I can't wait for the new....

What's Santa Claus gonna bring for Christmas? Tough question. I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow, not even Harold Camping knows and he's a professional prognosticator. Me, heck, I'm not even sure what really happened yesterday, you could probably ask 10 different people who think they know and get 10 different answers.

I have some ideas what might be on the shipping dock in December, but all that could change between now and Christmas. So for me to "spill the beans" would do everyone a disservice.

The engineering group is still on the payroll, so the boss evidently thinks we're busy doing something useful. What products may emerge from this effort nobody can say for sure until they're coming off the production line. And even then, not so sure. After all, even with a schematic, sourcecode, and photo of the product, there's no way of knowing for sure what customers will and won't like about the product until a bunch of 'em have been sold and gotten dirty and customers are talking about them.

I am writing a letter to Santa now!! I have been a real good boy!!!

The boss has been writing Santa, too. There's a rumor (see, even I can start Internet rumors!) that Santa takes a quick look at the incoming mail, sorts it, and sticks ones with the same request on a spike like they use in restaurants for keeping track of invoices. If yours and the boss's land on the same spike, and that spike is stacked the deepest come Christmas Eve, y'all are in luck, that's the first stack to be serviced. Any stack with less than 10 requests though, Santa don't have time to screw around with that, those kids just get a lump of coal in their stocking. So goes the official rumor I heard being whispered last time the north wind was blowing.

Hey Dave, will the new machine get dirty or wet ?????
Just Fisher fishin for more info ....lol

I have read that they are working on a multi frequency platform from Tom D's forum. Look up Dave J's posts & read what he has to say. It doesn't get any closer to the horses mouth than that. I love my CZ's & am excitedly waiting on the new release of a machine by FT.

I heard a rumor that morale down in El Paso is at an all-time low since ikspeel announced a couple days ago that he can't wait any longer and is taking his business elsewhere.

Personally, Id like to see a tweaked F75 SE with expanded iron disc ....maybe half, quarter, or tenth points @ disc 16(ish) and under. Make these units less susceptible to EMI (including silent EMI) without sacrificing sensitivity to non ferrous. Do away with the FT backlight.
Round out the armcup and/or include slots for a strap. Redo batt compartment so it doesnt hang so low and bump into my side, sturdy up the "ears" for the coil mounts, and use metal instead of plastic for the head unit where it attaches to the handle.

Ah, but this is the cz forum sooooo..... Tweak current platform to utilize DD coils, and (if possible) increase recovery speed. include a disc-based threshold(again, if possible) "switchable", for those who prefer it AND = make it WATERPROOF. IF youre going to throw a meter on this, make the visual scale numeric 1-100 (or more) and, having 8' cables for hip/chest mounting would be a nice bonus.

No problem, right ?!?

Thanks for entertaining my Christmas list

They are working on something. No doubt there. I got a cool email a year back. But, what is it. A dircect compliment to the 3030????

I would rather an cz 21 upgrade. Salt/fresh water mode. Auto ground. Few other bells an whistles.

Who knows.

Its not if, but what an when really. I would give it another year.

Anyway, I will keep an eye out. Keep in mind, a new water machine means they phase out the 21 an 1280. So...who knows.

I can't wait. I won't repost email, but it had "ya we are working on something, but won't comment on it" [this was a sentiment, not a direct quote, not trying to mislead] written all over it.

Dave and the fellers at First Texas are always trying to find new and improved technology. They don't do like some companies, where they come out with something new about every 10 years or so.

I would love to be a field tester on the new "CZ" or whatever they have in the works coming up is!!

California is a hard place to hunt, but if your machine can cut the mustard here, it'll work almost anywhere. I have great test sites, and can post youtube video reviews too :detecting:

I wondered if there was any usual time for Fisher to release a new detector? I will join with those chomping at the bit to see a new FT offering. I have high hopes for a lighter, cooler, more impressive CZ but would take a hard look at any thing they do. Just wondered if there was any method to the madness of a new machine.

Don

My best guess would be a water machine. Based on the market. Right now choices are a plenty for land machines. Since I seen these threads I have been checking daily. Lol. Hh an gl. -Joe

I'm hearing a lot of rumors...but I hope it's a good unit regardless of whether it's a cz or not.

The market is BEGGING for a unit that isn't $1000 more than the current top of the line machine of each manufacturer.

I just have a really good feeling that FT/Fisher can really make some serious noise right now.

Just a few ideas.......Adjustable tones, ability to assign tones to certain TID numbers, ability to notch specific TID ranges, not just certain blocks. For example on the Omega and some other detectors you can only notch out a range. On the Omega I think the nickel range is from 55-60. It would be nice to only notch in say 57 and 58 instead of the whole range. Trigger pinpoint, backlight, dont care about color screen, find a way to make them less sucseptible to EMI. At least 3 coils available at the time of release........Having a button where you could toggle between two or more different modes would be nice too. Come standard with a coil cover. Ability to save settings (more than one).
