Okay, so this might not be exactly the right forum to ask...but...

I've been wanting to upgrade from my single frequency detector and am looking at this 'Vanquish Series' model 440 and it says 'Multi IQ Technology'...and I know all the frequencies are used at the same time, there's no picking and choosing individual frequencies like the Equinox Series, but....exactly what frequencies does the V440 use? I called Minelab direct and spoke with two people about it, they didn't know and one even told me 'Minelab probably won't disclose that, either'...would be nice to know the tech specs of something before I buy it...

If it runs about the same as the nox it should be 5/10/15 maybe

Yeah...Go ahead and buy the Legend. It is nothing more than a Minelab Equinox copy. And let us know where you hunt with it so us folk who own an Equinox can come find the coins you missed!! Lol!!

Won't consider a metal detector with a built-in rechargeable battery (will eventually fail after so many charging cycles) would rather have the option to change batteries right then and there in the field.

On their website, Minelab shows the frequencies for the Equinox: "Operating Frequencies (kHz) Multi, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40"

I just want to know if I'm going to get the same with the Vanquish 440....all they show in the specs are: "Operating Frequencies (kHz) Multi-IQ"

FINALLY found it....don't know why they can't just list it on the spec page..so yes, to answer my own question, the same frequencies are used on the Equinox and Vanquish Series (5, 10, 15, 20 and 40), but they all run at the same time on the Vanquish and can't be used individually.

The rechargeable battery on the legend is user replaceable.
Although the legend is a little more expensive than the 540 it is a much more capable and better performing detector.
This coming from someone that owns the 440 and legend.
And yes it is in my opinion a copy of the box 800 BUT better built, more waterproof with more features and a LOT less money

I kind of figure if the Vanquish pushes the same frequencies as the Nox, that's good enough for me, and much better than the single-frequency detector I currently have.

See if I can catch the V440 on a Memorial Day Sale coming up...

You won't be dissatisfied with the V 440. I love mine...sold my Etrac and have not missed it. Sooooo light (can sing forever) and sooooo simple by comparison!!!!!!! Lot of detector for small price!!!!!
ETA - Turn it on, decrease Sensitivity by 2 or 3 (unless site is more than normally clean) and get ready to dig. VDI values are very reliable and recovery is faster than an Etrac's.

I like the strong battery on the Legend, and the fact that it's user serviceable, but noticed it only can only run 2 frequencies at the same time...wonder why they didn't make it to run all five together? Looks like a great machine, though....maybe one day, after I dig up a Rolex or two...

Where did you read you can run any two frequencies at the same time? There are two different SMF modes. However, I see nothing in the manual indicating the end user is able to choose any two frequencies.

Nokta / Makro are stating there is two multi SMF programs, M1 and M2 which can only be used in Park and Field. Plus they have 5 single frequencies you can choose from. Doesn’t matter at this point as I see you bought the Vanquish. I believe you will be well pleased. Thank you for your service. Best of luck to you
