I am not singling anybody out, and this is meant in a nice way, but Bill Ladd

I'm pretty ambivalent about consumer accessible USB ports because of the tech support overhead from the manufacturer's standpoint. Now you have to have on staff technicians that are USB experts and familiar with every version of Windoze & Macs. Case in point, we had a 98SE box that was backing up to tape at the end of the day(too slow), too much data to get across the network in timely fashion, so decided to go with an external HD via the USB port on the machine. The purchased HD was USB ver. 1&2 compliant with drivers for 98SE. Would not work on the 98SE box, come to find out the Compaq USB port chipset was not compliant, had to purchase an Adaptec USB card to make it work. That was not easy to figure out initially. So you can imagine John Doe calls FT and says the USB on the F75 won't connect, what a nightmare.

I told you to the best of my ability what I could. ALL the testers, (I was not one of them), signed a letter of confidentially agreeing not to speak about the F75 & F4. Bill Ladd, Mike Scott, and myself were given permishion to speak about it.

I don't care if you like or accept what I said. You don't want to accept that, so be it. You can go x@%#".

That's why it's so important to say the right things, and be carefully about the BS. You, as the consumer will be the best testers of all. You have the ultimate, and final Ax, the $ wallet.

Have a nice day

They would not be shipping them this coming week.......In fact, the release date was delayed for months to be sure everything was right.
I had mine 2 weeks now, but I'm not the only tester. Other "testers" had earlier versions to test far longer......so lets not make a mountain out of a molehill.
Sorry I even mentioned the bug word

happens every new release. the minelab guy from another camp who never posted here before just drops in to give his 2 cents on -hype- and marketing + testing which he has no real clue--
your 'V-flex- Xterrable wasnt hyped at all right?

Some like to stir the pot- others think its a genuine threat or the fear of the f-75 really out gunning his Aussie favorite-- thats why this happens- and U can set your watches by it every new product---

if the f-75 is better than my t-2 then you dont want to see your minlabs tested next to 'em friend-- put it that way

I don't see it as a headache to ML techs. They might be able to make some repairs/checks/adjustments without having to ship the detector.

WEll you said that right on! It does get ridiculous doesnt it.
Thanks for saying it like it is,,, good to know some do see thru the crap.

Not a couple hour trial. Takes up to 40,50 hours outside to becoem in tune with what a new detector is saying. What settings work together best? My mate can tell iron just by the sound with his oldie but goody. The boys who never even read the book, or get it out of their parlour kill me
cheers, Liam
