I'm pretty ambivalent about consumer accessible USB ports because of the tech support overhead from the manufacturer's standpoint. Now you have to have on staff technicians that are USB experts and familiar with every version of Windoze & Macs. Case in point, we had a 98SE box that was backing up to tape at the end of the day(too slow), too much data to get across the network in timely fashion, so decided to go with an external HD via the USB port on the machine. The purchased HD was USB ver. 1&2 compliant with drivers for 98SE. Would not work on the 98SE box, come to find out the Compaq USB port chipset was not compliant, had to purchase an Adaptec USB card to make it work. That was not easy to figure out initially. So you can imagine John Doe calls FT and says the USB on the F75 won't connect, what a nightmare.
