I am getting a V3i!! Coils?

Hi all! After about a week of research, I have found my next detector! I am getting a V3i! Before I order though, I would like to know what 2 or 3 coils I should add to my arsenal with this detector. Which coils have been proven time and time again for you and under what conditions?

I am mainly looking for coins/jewelry and relics. The occasional nugget hunt would be okay too but i'll be hunting for coins/jewelry and relics much more often!

Thanks in advance!

For all around coil I believe the SEF 10x12 would be the best. I can not help you for trashy areas and prospecting because I haven't tried any.

A lot will depend on where you will be hunting. An example is while gold hunting the 6X10 would work good hunting tailing's and open ground but if you will be hunting crevices and around larger rocks you will want the 4X6. For coin hunting, the D2 will work great but some users like the 10X12 SEF and if you hunt in trash, the 5.3 or 6X8 SEF will give you better separation.

I saw your ad on the classifieds, if you get a 10X12, be sure it is the white one which is made for the V3i.

Not only that Larry, but make sure the seller can run the gain at 15 with overloading and that he gives you the signal and noise percentages.

The early SEF white coils where horrible in quality control and it was hit or miss.

You would be better off to use the V3I first and learn it before you go out and get coils. There is no quarentee a new coil will be good. It is not a WHITES 10x12 SEF, it is a white 10x12 SEF. Whites doesn't make one.

I just picked up a new V3i with wireless headphones for $1600 at KellyCo. PLUS Whites is having Bonus Bucks days! I get an additional $200 in Whites stuff from the V3i! I used the $200 Bonus Bucks for a 4x6 coil, coil cover, and Whites detector bag. Good deal at $1600 for all that stuff I think!

You are going to be thrilled. Get used to swinging slow and digging allot! That 4x6 is a great coil to have and is one of many you will want to have.
