I am for the first time ever Beach hunting in SC. Any tips on the settings for the Manticore? THanks

Any tips? Should I use the 11 or 6 inch coil. I do have a sand scoop.

I would use the 11 inch, better coverage and more depth. if you end up in a high target area, you could always switch back to the smaller coil.

The South Carolina beaches are severely sanded in, I would suggest using Tom Dankowski's program, but you may need to cut down the ferrous volume to keep your sanity. I use the red line indicator to avoid iron, but you have to keep your passes really short and do a cross pass as sometimes good targets can masquerade as red iron. Low tide I believe is mid to late afternoon, that's going to be your best area. I hope you get lucky!

Run Sens on 24 or 25 or 26… depending / dictated by the salt-content of your particular beach. (Start at 24….. and see how stable the unit is. Then bump-up Sens accordingly).
