Any tips? Should I use the 11 or 6 inch coil. I do have a sand scoop.

The South Carolina beaches are severely sanded in, I would suggest using Tom Dankowski's program, but you may need to cut down the ferrous volume to keep your sanity. I use the red line indicator to avoid iron, but you have to keep your passes really short and do a cross pass as sometimes good targets can masquerade as red iron. Low tide I believe is mid to late afternoon, that's going to be your best area. I hope you get lucky!

Tom Dankowski's program

Beach Low Conductors Mode
Volume: 25
Ferrous Volume: 25
Recovery Speed: 4
Discrimination Pattern: All Metal
Ferrous Limits: Upper = 4, Lower = 0
Nothing Notched out. (Bring in the iron).
Audio Theme = Prospecting
Ground Balance the unit close to the edge of the saltwater
[States Tom…]

Run Sens on 24 or 25 or 26… depending / dictated by the salt-content of your particular beach. (Start at 24….. and see how stable the unit is. Then bump-up Sens accordingly).

Hi I hunt my beaches here in Ct all winter I'm using the9" coil which has excellent depth
I hunt no discrim beach low conductor 5 tone and do very well
I would look for exposed rocky areas that get exposed thats where you will find gold and old coins
And bring a shovel I use a lond handle one for the beaches scoop works well only in the sand.
I'm in eastern Ct and all I do is look for erosion and rocky areas here is a few pics of the type of areas to look for that gold ring was found in that rocky area I found two there and a lot of lead weights and two silver halves thats a small creek area at low tide. I found a lot of silver coins there.
My setting are on my Manticore
Beach low conductor
5 tone
sensitivity 22-23
no discrim
long noise cancel
Good luck
Mark
