Hurricanes and what to do.......metal detecting

I live in Garden City S C. Right down the road from Myrtle. I have been making several trips to the beach to see what it has been doing. Earlier there were 8' to 10' waves. They were breaching the dunes and flowing out to the parking lots and roads. I am very excited to hunt as soon as the weather calms down. Hope I find something good to post about. This will be my first hunt after a hurricane or even a storm of this size.
Ferd.

Looks like the hurricane won't be as bad as thought. It hit land as a cat 1 storm. Still will do some damage and flooding will be a problem. According to local news in the area, the whole area will be shut down for 7 to 10 days and no one will be allowed in.

If anyone has any information contrary to this please let me know. I'm planning a trip to the OBX as soon as it opens up.

I was given some advice by a shop owner at the beach a while back; If someone tells you the great finds are here, they are usually over there or your told you have to wait a few days to hunt at a spot He all ready hunted it and is on his way back after talking to you.
