SAT is not fixed you can adjust it. There is no recovery speed therefore it isn't preset or a predetermined fixed time because you can't adjust something that isn't there.

In the search mode, there is the option for a self adjusting threshold. It goes anywhere from being off which makes it just like pinpoint all metal to very fast. If you have the SAT enabled, when you put the loop over the target, and stop, it will adjust back to threshold, so you won't hear the target anymore until you move the coil. This filter helps to remove the ground effects from the audio. You can set it so that it takes a long time to adjust to the threshold, or quickly adjust to the threshold audio.
