HUGE Silver came to light after 100 years :hot:

Well, I've found 13 silvers, plenty of wheats, even a 1916 merc, not the D merc though, but have yet to find an IH, V nickle, shield nickel or buffalo. Some of the guys on MD have, not me, yet! I'd say you're doing pretty darn good finding those oldies! Good job!

Thanks, so whats the learning curve (in years) to learn how to operate a 3030. I have been kicking around for a machine for depth in more open areas.

Nice. Not very common to find a lone one.

For those asking . Auto +3 was running around 26 . Soil was on the dry side . And as mentioned it was only my second silver dollar in over 40 years detecting . Both from public sites that had been hammered hard for many years and both were very iffy signals. The first was found with my E-Trac by the way .

Thanks for all the comments folks and I apologize for not posting as much lately as I have not found a lot quantity wise but quality has been very good

if you don't mind the drive over to the better side of Oregon.

I moved from the greater Portland metro area last September to Arlington, upstream midway between The Dalles and Hermiston just last September. Busy researching now to line up a lot of great looking homesteads and other more dated locations, then I'll go after permission. Silver Dollars don't show themselves as often as they used to, but the hey-day of the latter '60s, the '70s and early-to-mid '80s are long gone. :sadwalk:

There still are some silver dollars out there to be found, and most that I have uncovered in the past half-dozen years were mainly in trashier sites, or were in some fresh renovation work (I always watch for good renovation!). Most were also in the Portland area, too! One at Washington Park, one near Mt. Tabor Park, one in some fresh work where they rebuilt a new school in the SE area 2009/2010, and one in some street & sidewalk renovation. That last one was in Central Oregon, not Portland.

The deepest of them all in recent years was about 4"-4

That probably made your day or rather month or so.

Dream coins! Nice work boys! :clapping: I think most of us noobs have to learn to hunt masked targets, and the sooner the better.
Mud

Nice one! I've yet to get me one of those!
