Same as yourself, been detecting many many years and currently have 22 detectors and 45 coils ;)

Is that what they are?...I thought they where Part of me!.........Count?....That would take a while!!!

A better question would be: How many of the detectors do you USE that you have??? (especially for mascard)-------Me---"we" currently have 14---but there's two of us (my wife & I).----We use every one of them "mucho" to!:)-------------Del

Most at one time (5) Right now(4)
At age 67 , I got this personal policy, if something hasn't been used in say 2years , well it's got to go. I hunt a lot, mostly mud, but try to wade as often as I can.
Bulletman, the four I got left, I would be hard pressed to cull even one.

Ive been detecting since 1978. The most ive owned at one time was 13 i think. 2 years ago i had 5, last year used 3 now i use 2. Im 49 and will be buying 1 or 2 more in 2017. I like simple.. i have simplified most areas of my life since i retired. If i dont use something in 2 years i sll it.. just like someone else that responded.. ive owned most every major brand and model but i kept grabbing my old whites mxt's lol so i had to sell all of those so i could learn new machines. Well i have another mxtpro... I do really like my 705 though.

I have a fast and efficient one and a slow and deep one and a back up for each.
Coils are a bit embarrassing.

Detecting since 61 and owned hundreds over the years as technology went from bfo to tr to vlf to pulse and more with ground penetrating radar,.,color enhanced side scan radar on and on . Technology is on the cusp of the proverbial screen with a image of the target and conductivity. I own only 3- a Tesoro old school Golden Sabre with real notch for coins/relics/beach.....Tesoro Lobo Supertraq for gold and trashie home sites...and my righteous nugget hunter the GB2. Coils omg many is as close as I care to get, which is yet another fantastic area of advancements as you can take a vlf with a concentric donut coil(TGS) slap on a DD solid coil and do black sand beaches and other areas that kill the concentric. Great time to be a detectorist...John

Detecting 40+ years. Used to own a living room full of detectors now I own 2. Most were doing nothing but collecting dust. Now I own and use a Makro Racer 2 and my DFX as my backup.

Well, I do own a 80's Garrett Master Hunter ADS 4 that hangs on the wall to remind me how far detector technology has come.

Over the last 25 years must have owned and used over 100.....right now with families health and getting close to 80 down to two older models...come spring may be time to liquidate them.....

I always have just two detectors along with two diggers, two headphones, and two pinpointers. My two detectors are both Fishers, a F5 and F75. I usually keep a small coil mounted on one of my detectors.

The more you own the more you have to take care of, that's true with detectors and everything else in life, that's why I keep it simple, one detector, one coil and one wife.

That's the best advice/response yet in this whole thread---and---something we should ALL follow!------It's just that so many of us has this "detector sickness"----me bein the chief sicko!!!:lmfao:------The one wife part---that's easy for me---I got the love of my life that I wouldn't part with for the world.-----The detectors---now that's a different matter---I seem to think I have to have a "harem" (of detectors)----and I get "divorced" of some of them right regular!

Detecting since about 75. Owned a bunch and all different brands. New detectors were too confusing to keep several so now all I have is two Etracs. One keeps a small Coil on and the other keeps a Medium Coil on. As far as Coils I own all the ones in my Sig Line in addition to the Sun Ray X-8 I just ordered. As for wives I have tried a bunch 5 last count and that was just the ones I actually married. Lived with several more but finally settled on the one I have had for the last 30 years. I do keep a Girlfriend on the side though. My Wife claims she is mean though.

Just three ......Now down to two ...... 1). Minelab SE Pro ( gave to my son) Now.... 2). Minelab E-Trac and 3).Whites TDI . Between these two of FBS and PI , I think I got things covered along with more coils then a sang person needs !

Gotta say, that one who owns several detectors is not an evil person, but perhaps as "dedicated" as I have been. This is the one true hobby that has been consistent throughout my adulthood. I have always been fascinated with "treasure tales" throughout my lifetime. I suppose one could have worse hobbies, therefore, I do not regret owning as many as I do. Still dream about finding a huge cache of silver coins, and I will probably die still dreaming! However, this is a plausible dream, as it happens upon an occasional basis for the select few. I can only dream at this point in my life!!! I'm 53 years old, and hope that this happens before I'm dead and gone!

nice read people

I have a few too many and not quite enough :buds:

but like any tool I have my fav's :look: sometimes they change though.

PS. I wasn't implying I am a tool although there are probably some who may agree with me :lmfao: but here for a good time a bit of fun and even a heated debate if need be, but mostly fun

I've only been detecting a couple of years.

I own just one. A Makro Racer 2.

I have an 11"x7" coil and a 4.5"x5" coil for it.
