Hopefully I'm not putting anyone on the spotlight here....

i agree with clondike clad!..the xl pro is arguably one of the "best"
coin shooters of all time!

i tend to agree with that statement, but will add that of metered detectors, that the xl pro with it's analog meter has to be rated as AS GOOD,as anything digital that i am aware of!.."dead nuts" accurate meter with power that will get deep, and also excell in trash laden areas as well with a small coil on board!

KCK,I have owned and used at least 75 metal detectors.I had two Explorer's and never really gave them a chance like some of the other units. My favorite detector at this point is a XS Sovereign with a straight shaft, Sunray Probe and Night Hawk 180 meter.I like all CZ'S,which I have a CZ20.The Fisher 1236x is one of my favorite's also, which will be carried in a backpack sometime this summer while I make a two hour journey on horseback to an old house foundation I found a while back on an equestrian trail.

Been detecting 29 years. Have owned about all the top of the line detectors.Have owned over 50. Stoped counting at 50. Now own 12. Not for everyone but the Whites XLT is my favorite for the last 15 years.

GTI 2000 found a 3 cent silver at 8" with 10 inch Deep Seeker coil and that is after running a DFX and Explorer II over the whole area several times. You will not find it if the coil does not go over it. I use a DFX first because it is light and will not miss most coppers like large cents. Once I finnish with the DFX I will return with the other two units and go very slow if the area seems to have some promise. I had pounded one of my sites to death and then told the club where it was and they hunted the crap out of it. I went back with the 12" coil from whites for the DFX and found 3 colonial buttonsd they missed in a half hour period. Get a good detector, spend time with it, find some relics from a old home site and zero in but keep your lips closed about where you get the goodie's from because you will be at work and your buddie's will be detecting. NO JOKE

:whites::detecting: I started out with a Wilson/Neuman Daytona 5000, then went to a Whites 2900/D (wish I had that one back), then I had ALL THE CLASSIC SERIES from the Classic I all the way to the last one made ,...the Whites IDX Pro. I like the Bounty Hunters and Fisher also. The deepest detector I ever used was a Fisher 1266X. The best in trashy areas are the Bounty Hunters. We are OVERDUE for some new models!!!:ranting: But I have a pretty good assortment of detectors for now. Happy Hunting!:wiggle:
