Home remedy for a tooth ache -anybody got one?

Pete in MI

New member
pain pill isn't doing any good. Thought someone once said to take a tea bag and put it on the bad tooth to drag out the poison or whatever.
My toothache hurts but the pain is nothing compared to what Sherry has gone through and continues to go through - physically and she is under some real emotional stresses too. Her Mom'd alzheimer is getting worse.

that's what I had after surgery....LOL. Or try to crush a half of an asprin right on the tooth.

Tami was at the dentist today and after the meds wore off she could feel something was not right! She called them back in a lot of pain. She goes back tomorrow to see if they can fix the problem!

crush up some asprin, orajel works great also. ...........on the lighter side you could rent the movie castaway and when it gets to the part where tom hanks has to "operate" on his own tooth maybe yours wont seem so bad:stars:

only 'aspirin' I'm allowed ia a St Joesph Chewable 81 mg in the morning to keep the ticker ticking....I did try holding it on the bad tooth to kinda melt it there - didn't help.

Don't know if I am allowed to take Vicodin. I was given Lortab for pain relief when I came home from the hospital but it doesn't seem to be working for this pain.

Appreciate the suggestions and especially the prayers Phil.

:surprised::yikes: YIKES!!!!!!

to me dentistry got its start in the dungeons of some castle where they weren't looking to help anyone but to torture them.

Then in the Old West the dentists put out their signs 'Painless' Dentistry and alcohol from the saloon was the only 'medication' to numb the tooth before 'painless' extractions and alcohol to kill the pain afterwards....oh yeah alcohol is a blood thinner so bet that helped the clotting. Wonder how many died in the Old West not from gun shot but from the local 'painless' dentist.

Every dentist chair I have ever sat in has my hand impressions squeezed into them (diamonds don't that much pressure) - they probably had to change the arm rests or get new chairs.

Will pray for Tami to get her tooth/teeth right and the pain goes away for her very soon.

with myself due to the pain. I go to the dentist. He wants to do a root canal or something long and expensive and I just tell them to pull the stupid thing. I have to be DESPERATE to go that route. Usually about 2 or more weeks of pain then I try to find a 'painless' dentist.

It is painless to the dentist. Everything about a dentist office I hate...the smell...the sounds...the swirling water...the suction...the smiling faces of those who are going to give me even more pain...etc.

Yeah I guess I need a psychiatrist too hahaha - think I have 'issues' :rofl:

put the string around the tooth and the other end around the doorknob. Wait for someone to open the door, Steve
