Home made coin popper - nice!

What Khouse said, feel and sound, the coin surface is generally more smooth then a rock also the sound when you hit a coin in completely different.

When shallow I pinpoint the target then use a pinpointer to find the outer edge of it. Then I pry it right up.
With shallow I mean approx >3", aka approx under 3 inches of depth. (I have a Falcon MD-20 as a pinpointer)

A plug is when you make a hole in a "horseshoe" form meaning it is still attached to part of the grass. See video for a plug:

Like here is an example of a plug

Hope it helps,
Eu

I do exactly the same. And never left any damage or yellow spot to the grass. Without any screwdriver.

That's nice to know if I ever need it. I hope NOT because that took about the same amount of time as "poppin" four or five coins with a simple screwdriver! Maybe you guys are finding much deeper coins than I am:shrug:

I also like the hinged plug, cut three sides at desired depth, lift plug remove prize, with no scratches or nicks, lay grass back down, step on it,ruff grass a little water if needed and move on.I have tried popping them out like Bill and others do but just dose'nt work for me. I guess its all good if it works and dose'nt waste the grass. H.H. Kevin
