Holy nulling batman !!!

Larry, a smaller coil is definately on the want list. But I'm not going to push my luck with my wife...lol. :starwars:

Trust me guys there will be times you WILL hunt in AM or near it. Once you learn the machine you will be able to cherry pick in the worst trash. I hunted in IM 30 today in a field and even in ferr almost never got a threshold..... small coils are nice to have. The problem with Ferr is deep pieces of copper and other targets sound close to the low tone of iron. You really have to pay attention.

Had my first real hunt with the E2 today. Hit an old school area and experimented with ferrous and conductive sounds, IM, blank screens, etc. Found some clad, but my best find (a '25 wheatie about 4" deep) came through clear in the middle of a dense null with conductive sounds and IM just knocking out iron.
I'm don't fear the null so much anymore.

Nice job, Wayne.

OK Dewcon and teleman...I had to do it. I was hunting last night, and had nulling SO BAD, that I kept running sensitivity DOWN DOWN DOWN...once I got to 5, and it was no better, I gave up -- and I "sinned." I broke Bryce's rule. I am a newb with my SE, but... I TOOK IT OUT OF THE DEFAULT SETTINGS. Forgive me, father, for I have sinned... :)

I went to IM and set my mask on 31, and then switched to ferrous sounds. You guys both said this was sometimes necessary. I didn't know what else to do. I don't know if it was EMI or what, but in IM 31, it was a constant machine-gun barrage of low tones. No WONDER I couldn't get a threshold. There could NOT have been that much iron in the ground, unless it was flakes of rust or something. The only other thing I can think, was maybe it had something to do with the fact that my rechargeable pack was down to about 1/2 charge. I charged it overnight, and this morning went to a different site, but it ran just fine -- sens. at 22. Could it have been the battery, or was it EMI (there were power lines pretty close to me when I was having the problem).

Oh, by the way, found a couple of coins and other non-ferrous junk when hunting in ferrous sounds, but I behaved, and went back to conductive sounds and factory defaults this morning! :)
