So what did you find in 2024 that you really liked? Preferably with a short story and a picture. I’ll go first

Mine came late in the year on my trip to Colchester England. In the last hour on the last day I dug my second gold coin ever
a 25 BC Celtic 1/4 stater. Love this hobby and the D2
Get out there.

Guys Guys, This was just a fun post on a cold night asking What you found last season that you liked. I wouldn't post something like my coin just to get likes on it again.

Dug my first Eagle Breast plate this year. Bottom section was found in February, top section was found 9 months later in November. Same farm field located roughly 40 yards apart. It isn’t in pretty shape but a breast plate non the less. Not oriented correctly in this pick. Glad the Deus 2 was able to sniff out both pieces.

My find from 2024 that was a personal favorite/bucket lister would have to be my first ever Civil War Breast Plate.

It was found on a site that gave no indication in the research that it would produce any civil war relics. When I first saw it pop up out of the plug, I did not think there was anyway it could be what I thought it was. My attention was slightly averted on this short hunt due to a territorial bull that was not very understanding of the relic I had just recovered. Pushing my luck I quickly put the plate in my bag and repositioned myself a few yards away to try and alleviate the bull’s nerves. In doing so I heard a good button signal. Riding the high of the moment, I dug the signal up and it turned out to be an Eagle button. Feeling as if I had pressed my luck with the situation I gathered my thoughts safely on the other side of the barbed wire fence. That’s when it hit me that I had in fact unveiled my first ever plate!

I have not found another Civil War relic from this site which makes me feel even more fortunate for the discovery.

Thanks for looking!

In 25 years of hunting Englnd, I have yet to find a little pony !!!! Imagine the disappointment when I dug a gold planchet which was blank on both sides !!!
Oh so close !!! At this point, Id be happy with a silver unit !!!!

The sight of gold coming out of the ground in England, is a heart thumper !!!

Congrats on a great find !!!!

BYW, that coin is about 1/2 the size of a pinkie nail....extremely small.
