Hi Gents of all the detectors you have owned which is NO.1 ??:yikes:

Hi CJM, I have had, and still have most all of every machine I ever owned. Gave my best digging Buddy the 1266 and my son the X5. There are 15 or 16 hanging on the wall and in my closet that I can see from where I'm sitting. I'm too comfortable to get up and go count them, and to old to remember. Some are really old and some not so old. They all work but one, and Katrina finally finished it off. Most are Tesoros and 5 are other brands. My favorites though are the Tejon and the Amigo II (modded with coil plug). Also have one unmodded. Of all of them I always enjoy and have more fun swinging and digging stuff with the Amigo II. I guess it's partly because I always find stuff with it that is missed by other machines, and in virgin dirt its really going to really make things happen. Its real cool when you turn on a machine knowing from times past that things are going to get real interesting real soon. That's a fun machine and has been my favorite from the first time I used it. You mean at this moment. My Pirate Black Devil Pro 2 is kicking arse and taking numbers on my permissions in Virginia.

Unless your intentions were to limit the answer to Tesoro then you asked in the work section. Tesoro is the king of Beep & Dig.

Well, since I have three (Vaquero and Cibola for tesoro) and a metal detector from kellyco built by garrett, I would say the Cibola for schools, parks, etc... and the Vaquero for relic hunting. I will be adding a silver Umax to the stable around Christmas time for my wonderful wife :)

My favourite VLF is the Nautilus DMC-IIB and PI the Minelab GPX5000 both terrific detectors.

Some of your answers maybe your favorites due to features and depth but, what do you currently really enjoy using the most?
I have tried a lot of detectors that I thought would be favorites, only to find after awhile are excellent detectors with great features are really
not a joy to use.

First I'll say I enjoy using my self built Mirage PI with the 7" coil the most, relaxing to use and it finds stuff.

As for current target ID VLF machines, I would say
The controversial orig. version Deteknix Quest Pro with the T2 5" coil
White's IDX Pro with Mr. Bills mods with the 6.3 coil

As for past detectors, Tesoro models I owned and enjoyed using:
1st--Eldorado Umax, 8x9 coil
2nd--Silver Sabre Umax 8" coil
3rd--Toltec II 8" coil

Just picked up a Teknetics Mark 1, going to mod it and it may replace the IDX Pro, we'll see.
Personally don't like menu driven digital detectors, to much button pushing, prefer separate knobs and switches so I can quickly make minor adjustments
in tuning as needed.

My Tesoro Eldorado is still a pleasure to use, but it's only been coming along for the ride lately. Been using an Outlaw the most, and it works just fine. Outlaw is now on my list of favorites, but all the Tesoros I have are simple to use, have good depth, and find what I'm looking for. They're also lightweight, relatively inexpensive, durable and cute; kind of like my wife. ^_^

Agreed... Lol but my wife has bigger Boobs than my Tesoro ... Lol

I sure Hope I did not offend anyone..

My favorite was the shadow x2, and the Etp.
