In the Tesoro corner: I bought a Toltec ll ( bought new in 1994 ) still have it. In 2001 bought a new Tiger Shark ( still have it) . In the same year 2001, I bought a new old stock original Bandido ( definate keeper ). In 2007 I bought a Bandido ll uMax (keeper) Lately I have picked various other old model Tesoro's.........can ya tell i like Tesoro? This year a Fisher CZ5 and finaly a 1236X2. Whew! Hey Elton I run a X-Terra 70 only, for almsot 2 years. I do own a Fisher F2. Bought it for the wife. That eas over a year ago. It has not even been turnd on, Beale.

Hi EL, for over 2 years I have stuck with a White's Prizm, have a Detector Pro Headhunter,
and a couple of Bounty Hunters that I dont use. I used to trade off all the time , about 10 years
ago. When I find the time to hunt , I want to just turn it on and go , I will decide what to dig based
on location and research. And the biggest thrill is not really knowing until you get the target out ,
well, It is for me anyway .

Hi El,
You talk about being detector poor. The kid here is one of those guys. I just came back to detecting 3 years ago. I have had a Ace 250, Gti 1500, DeLeon, ID Edge, F5, Wader and now I have a Safari. My wife told me she has the divorce lawyer on speed dialer if I mention another detector, "That I must have." ....Z

Not in the pic - but add a White's Vision/Spectra V3 - been using it allot lately because it's new (few months) and I'm trying to get used to it.

It really is best getting one unit and sticking with it..........

I use two types of technology. PI = SD220 and an VLF = Xterra70. I mainly detect Australian gold fields in South Australia and Victoria. I use the Xterra 70 to clean out rubbish on sites and for searching old mullock heaps for small pieces of gold. I use the 2200 with a variety of coils, never a mono on 'hot ground'. It works and provides me the best of both worlds in the terms of technology I can afford. With high voltage power lines over goldfieled sites, I use an 11" anti-interference coil on the 2200. The power lines do not worry the Xterra but I get very little depth and hot ground really makes it grumpy. Good hunting.

In twenty years I've had these detectors:
First machine, White's Classic II
Second, Fisher CZ-5
Third, Fisher CZ-3D

Then I started trying all different kinds and had:
Garrett Ace 250
Minelab Xterra 50
Minelab Xterra 70
Fisher CZ-70
Fisher CZ-6
Fisher 1280
White's XLT

Then I got the Minelab Explorer SE. "ding-ding-ding, we have a winner!"
And I couldn't resist the E-Trac, so now I have those two and still have the CZ-3D

The Minelabs seem to be best at finding what I want in the places I hunt, which is old coins in previously detected spots.
