Hey Mr. Metal detector industry. Can we get with the program?

While we are at it, since fish finders are so advanced, why cant we see the actual coin, ring and beer tab by reflecting the actual object and its size in the ground?

Basic consumerism 101 - perceived value. Change the dials and screen, add a bell and whistle or two, insert some key words or phrases in the desciption that gets the saliva going and add some new pictures to the packaging. Now what you have is the latest and greatest in technology, style and comfort; guaranteed to improve your life and impress your friends, don't wait - buy now and get a "FREE HAT"!

Meanwhile their profits go up, the ceo gets a fat bonus and we wonder why we're not finding anymore now than when the CoinMaster was king.
Wow, it felt really good to get up on the soapbox and rant for a while, thanks!

Yes, I have been real critical of this industry even though I am the new guy! I am not selling anything and have been in Amature Radio and the Auto Industry for years! So I spot bad marketing trends like a shark detects injured prey int he water!!!LOL When you look at the insane amounts they charge us for something as simple as a metal detector we really do not get even close to our money's worth.

I have to agree, and all it will take to spark a "revolution" is one company with some initiative to step out and actually do it. Unfortunately I don't see that happening any time soon, as gold appears to have peaked for the near term and the hobby detector industry will probably be in contraction for years to come, so no new R&D. It's too bad :(.
