I just recently bought a used Shadow X-2 with Super 7" coil and GB added. I've used it about 4 or 5 times and it has really pulled some deep silver out for me. But last week I was back at my usual 1700's Plantation site and I noticed while gb'ing that it was acting a little erratic. I can't really explain but it was sort of like the threshold was neutral upon initial pumping but if I adjusted it a little positive (or negative), it would seem to correct itself as I pumped. Then when I released the pinpoint button I got all kind of falsing and it would not even detect known targets. I tried GB'ing again and again but to no avail. I tried a new battery. That made no difference. I love this detector and I want to get it fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do. Will Tesoro service the machine since it's been modified? I wouldn't expect them to honor the warranty but would they be willing to service it for a fee?
Thanks & HH

Check your connections.GB in a different location.Hook up a different coil.

Tesoro will repair it, but before sending it in do as Brent suggested, check the connectors and put a coil you know is good on it. If it still malfunctions with a different coil send it in.
