We had a safe trip to Nashville and back. We hit the road at 5:45am for 9am appointment and got home around 5:30!! The dogs sure were glad to see us! We were within 30 miles of home when traffic on I-40 came to a halt. It took us 3 additional hours to get home because the interstate was shut down due to an accident. We had to take a detour through Oak Ridge. I don't have any details of what happened but pray everyone was OK.
We saw his plastic surgeon today and will have surgery in March to reduct the tumors in his chin as they are forcing his tongue further back in his throat, thus minimizing his air intake. It is very hard to understand what Brian says because the tumors have grown so large in his jaw and chin making it difficult for him to form words properly. The nasal passages have been closed by the tumor behind his nose and surgery to reduce those will be next. That surgery will be extremely risky because they have to go through the nostrils, and controlling blood loss will be difficult.
I called our previous plastic surgeon and he said that the tumors will grow more rapidly as Brian goes through puberty but should slow down afterwords. The next few years could be pretty tough.
It looks like the weather is about to break, the high tomorrow is in the 60's and Wedn. in the 70's!!!!
It's time for bed, I'm beat, but just wanted to give you an update!!
As always, thanks for your prayers!
God bless,
