Here's a S.C. button I found along with another in a yankee camp/picket area. The two S.C. buttons were the only confederate stuff found there. ......

I am unable to find what I think is a perfect match in the Albert's book. The buttons mic at 18.65mm. Any ideas would be appreciated. The pic of the back is a little blurry but it is a local made with stars around it.
Thanks,
Scott

Those are nice finds! I can't find any local in Tice's book that looks like either of them. They look very similar to Albert's SC 15B. Maybe the experts will chime in. Great buttons!

hi scott! those are some nice SC buttons you found. i was told years ago by an old man that some of the local made buttons are hard to find in albert's or tice's books. you just might have a rare variety there. but hey, great job! hh,

They may be Citadel Cadet, South Carolina (18.2mm) buttons. Check out Harry Ridgeway's site. Here is a link to his confederate state seal buttons.

Nice finds,

Most likely they were brought into camp as souvenirs, but it is possible the Confederates camped there first. Nice buttons! David@Dixie
