Here it is and the X-Terra 505 found it!

Thanks again everyone! I will keep you all updated the coin should return fron gradeing in less than two weeks, I have never been through the process of having a coin graded, but when I realized the potential value of this coin I wanted to do it by the book! The entire time I had the coin in my possession I worried about losing it, kinda like getting the winning powerball ticket and having to drive to the lottery with it, you hope to God it don't blow out the window!!! On a different note, My goal in this hobby was a fascination with history, the older the better, so some may say a gold coin would be there find of a lifetime, nothing wrong with that at all! but for me a 350 year old coin that looks better than some of the 10 year old coins I have found is my find of a lifetime!

Well Treasurechic,
It appears to me that a lot of the people in this hobby would agree. I'm a rookie. My two best coins are Nickels. A 1914s and an 1899. The Buffalo is worth more and is in decent shape. The "V" is almost flat but is still readable. Both coins were 1st of types for me and gave me a charge. The "V" nickel gives me more sense of accomplishment even tho it took no more effort and in fact was only 20 feet from the Buff. It is more important to me because it is my 1st 1800's coin. The age says it all. The Buff Will gain if I can do a very nice restore to it without destroying the value. But it will never have the same history.

Part of my attraction to this hobby is the research and the stories that go with different sites. The stories that haven't been told for years by some old man or the book that hasn't seen daylight for a generation. Relearning what someone else already knew and forgot about an area.

Its Fun
Jeff
