Here it is and the X-Terra 505 found it!

Well we have all been questioning the abilities of the X-Terra series detectors for one reason or another. My questions were answered on the abilities of this detector over the Labor Day weekend. I got a nice penny- dime hit on this one when I first looked at it my heart dropped I knew what I had! but which one? It turns out that I had found a 1652 OAK TREE SIXPENCE the second of the tree coins, the coin is in the process of being graded at this time. I brought it to two reputable rare coin dealers and they believe it will grade at EF ( xtra fine) with the possibility of some mild environmental damage, which you must expect I guess from a coin thats over 350 yrs old! So my opinion of the X-Terra 505, Awesome!!!!

**I forgot to mention you can read the story of how I found this coin on Minelabs success stories page.**

Thank you everyone for your great comments, Its nice to finally post a great find after reading so many of the great finds all of you have posted, each one is amazing in its own way. as to the question of the value of the coin, if this coin grades EF its BOOK value is 18,000!

I can only imagine the excitement you must have felt (and must still be feeling) over such an amazing find. :clapping: Congratulations on making the find and taking the necessary steps to have it properly graded. I can't say I've ever questioned the abilities of my X-Terras. But I understand how making such a remarkable discovery would eliminate any doubts you may have had. The proof is in the pudding, as they say! We're glad you stuck with it and appreciate your sharing the story of your success with Minelab and those of us on this forum. Please keep us updated on the grading process. Again, NICE FIND!!!!! HH Randy

"Well done Treasurechic!"
That is a VERY nice find.
When living in Mass, I always thought I'd have a slight chance of coming across one!
Never did.
On a satisfaction scale of things = that would be the same "satisfaction scale":clapping: as me coming across a 1642 coin of "The Great Rebellion",
these coins are 'Extremely Rare'...I've never had one!

When building the 2nd X-Terra Series, I always knew they would prove to be terrific machines...you are Proof.
Well done again.

Good Hunting
