Help with ring markings

Crusty

New member
Hi, I scooped up a ring this morning while water hunting but I'm not sure what the markings mean.
The ring is either silver or white gold and the markings are;

750 (stamped inside a diamond) and 14 AR ( stamped inside another diamond)

Is this silver or gold ?

Thanks,
Dave

750 is 18k....75%gold and 25%nickle and or silver to add strength to ring, otherwise 18k and higher gets soft and bendable. Nice find though. I found me a 91.6 stamp on a ring last week or two and that means it is 91.6% gold. Not to be confused with .925 which is a stamp for silver. Not sure about the 14AR could be jewelers mark. What detector are you using? Gold sounds like no other in the excal, definite difference between gold and silver...

Because I'm sitting here board right now waiting for all the cruise shippers to leave so I can go back out this afternoon. I would love to have a few more gold to add to today's finds so far.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I got this ring this morning in the water with my CZ21. Same beach I got two yellow gold rings at last week.
When I got home I also checked the ring with my Explorer and it did ID as a 8 so I was thinking gold. Although I've found many gold rings in the water this one marked 750 had me a little confused because all others were marked with the carrot (K). Is the 750 gold mark more common in Europe....I'm in Canada?

I'll post up a full hunt photo later today:)

Here in Spain the majority of gold is marked in numbers, and is mostly 18k(750) some have the 18k too but rarely
