HELP! racer vs at pro vs fors core

Thanks southwind great review!

Im starting to lean towards the AT Pro because I cant find one reason not to buy that one. There are some hesitations on the Racer. Also read that within the next year or two Nokta is intending to build a racer style detector as well although im not sure why they would compete that directly with Makro since they merged. BUT if Makro or Nokta would make a stable, durable, waterproof Racer, now that would be a machine for the ages!

I feel you pay for features on the Racer that I dont have use for I.e. vibrating handle, small LCD light on the back. Id rather pay for durability and weather proofing. I like that theu are appealing to the deaf and comments that innovation, but I think that so specialized that most of us wouldnt need it. Thay should be a separate add on someone can order. Idk thays just my opinion.

I don't own a racer, but I do own an AT Pro. I think the racer would be the better choice for hunting in iron trash but I would rather use an AT Pro in aluminum trash since it has notch disc. Plus he AT Pro isn't very bad in iron either. Once you learn the audio in pro mode it really talks to you, and high conductive coins can be distinguished from trash targets very easily by audio.

If you watched my video for the Racer, check out my channel on there and you should find a couple videos on the AT Pro. One is a hunt where I'm digging coins at an old homesite and the other is Civil War relic hunting with it. Those will give you an idea what it can do in our soil. I live in between Knoxville and Chattanooga. In the Athens area.

I'm not a salesman or dealer but I do have a bunch of people that ask me advice on what detector to get, etc. My answer the last several yrs has been this:

If you want something cheap that does a good job and dont't want a lot of money in a machine...buy a Tesoro Compadre. If you want a machine thats a few steps up from that and can handle more sites and don't care to spend a little more money, the AT Pro is what I recommend. I can't tell you how many people Ive told that to that bought the AT Pro and they love the thing. A boy I work with got one and ended up liking it so much he ended up buying another one a couple weeks later so his kids or wife could have fun hunting too. He started out not wanting to spend over $200 for one and I talked him into the Pro. Lol

thanks everyone!

After much debate and literally hours and hours on forums, youtube, and websites i went with th AT Pro!

Main reasons: its proven and Tim tested. I had reservations about the racer but couldnt find one reason NOT to buy the AT Pro so it only made sense. Yall are all great. Hopefully ill be posting finds soon.

P.s. went ahead and also bought the 5x9 and at propointer. ...yeah buddy its on!:starwars:
