Help for coil ears

Washers My eye, it's a faulty product and Minelab needs to own it replace the coils with broken ears. There I said It
They are weakly made and need a upgrade even the aftermarket coils for the equinox I've heard are flimsy!

How do you explain the "ones of us" here who have never broken a coil ear after owning the different coils then? I worked my 11', 6", and 10x5" coils and never even cracked one.
I've never broke a coil ear, but many have is it a defect in the coil?

Here something to ponder, those that broke a coil ear are the using the detector for a crutch when they're
getting up or down putting undue stress on the coil?

some people tend to see how tight they can get the coil, the nox is made on the thin side so it will break. And is not just the nox that breaks. the coil below is thicker and broke for the same reason, the owner over tightened . The stiffener is really not that ugly, just has a lot of plastic shavings on it. This is on of many I have fixed for people, some were whites and garrets.

I don't know why someone would over tighten the ears I like a little play in my coil.

Have you replaced the washers on the end of the shaft? They wear down and then the shaft will start to wear the tabs in a circular pattern..Then the coil will start to flop around then people start to tighten up the bolt to prevent the coil from being to loose and it bends the ears and snap!

I've noticed that on the ears of the new coils that there is a slight rib in the molding on the ears which maybe a weak point.
