Headphones? ?

I have way too many hours wearing headphones and long ago decided that for me the major factor to be considered is not ohms or tonal quality, it is isolation from outside noise. I need to save what is left of my hearing! Phones that allow me to run low volume low threshold levels and hear the fainter sounds are my choice and for that you need industrial style ear muffs that truly block most outside noise! Koss QZ99's do the job for me.

they were selling was a "REAL" Rolex-exactly duplicated to Swiss specs-by their company--located in China. :heh:
(I tend to think Rolex would disagree...in the USA those counterfeits found being imported/sold are seized-it is in violation of Int. law)
But as anyone knows who visits ebay, counterfeit detectors from China are a big problem....

I'd be a little wary-I think original owners have a lifetime warranty...hate to see one voided.

Pioneer se-505's is what I use. Thy are older, but something I have used musically for years... And they seem to work just fine on my detectors...., but I love music just as much as detecting... so anything I drop serious cash on would need to suit both needs.... nothing like pluggin in and digging on some Pink Floyd late at night without disturbing the family unit. .. as fas as the made in America thing.... if you want my $$$ you are gonna have to earn it... I don't care where they come from as long as I am getting the most for my $$$$. Make good quality competitive stuff and I'll consider it.... when these die, I will go to a music store and sample all those and decide then...too much change in the market and products to be brand loyal, without hands on comparative shopping. I would never buy cans I hadn't actually tried... Hearing is 100% subjective and changes throughout your lifetime... go to a guitar center and find something that sounds good to you and has the features you want....and fwiw... always wear hearing protection in high noise areas... all men's High-tone range deminishes as they age it's a natural regression.

White's ProStars are working for me.

My Black Widows sound great and have fantastic noise cancellation.

I prefer their individual volume knobs on each ear, and a mute switch when recovering the target with a pin pointer.

On most, they are easy to open but it's not going to tell you much. Most of the speakers used aren't marked with the makers name and only a few may have a model # stamped on them.
