The extra sound dampening and cancelation really helps in noisier settings. Sometimes they can block out too much tho and you not realize people have walked up on you if you are lost in thought. They feel a little better to me on my head, and yes tones are a little louder, but I like that. I can always turn audio down more.

I been looking at the BW's and was wondering if the limiting circuit works on them. I already have the standard SR Gold pro's and while looking at the SR's for the 3030 noticed the note that the limiting circuit does not work. To tell the truth I don't want to buy something made for a detector and standard features are non-working. The thing that keeps me away from the GG are the one volume knob, my hearing is not equal after years of working in a noisy workplace.

With the CTX having it's own volume limiting setting, why is this a concern, won't it do what you are trying to accomplish?

I have recieved my new CTX, I didn't know the CTX had its own limiting settings. They would work as long as they mute the external speaker.

Using the wireless unit mutes the external, each sound (external, headphones, wireless) setup has it's own independent volume controls. I use the SR Pros when a site is noisy, its cold or windy and really like them with the CTX and wireless. In the warmer months I use a very good pair of earbuds and don't think I am giving up much.

Yes I read you can use your favorite HP's with the wireless, what I'm looking for is a pair of HP that plug into the detector via the 1/4" non-waterproof plug.
