Headphones Not Shutting off Speaker Potential Software Fix - Tested with Meter

Ray-Mo - Thanks for the reply but is that the suggestion that keeps the speaker off when you unplug them? I make videos quite often and need to be able to hear the speaker when the headphones are unplugged.

Unless I am missing something in your post, I can't think of a modification one could do to a set of headphones that would have an effect on the detector speaker when the headphones are not connected?

I was talking about the headphone module mod. I wasn't sure if Ray Mo was doing the jumper in the headphone module or in the headphones. He let me know it was in the headphones. He has sunray and I have Gray ghosts - no volume controls on mine but I have the two switches in one ear cup. So, I might stay away from opening them as I don't know electronics like I used to.

The adapter is working fine for now.

Without the adapter, your headphones do not shut off the speaker. With the adapter, your headphones shut off the speaker. And often, you want your video camera to pick up the audio from the speaker........ Sounds like you're already set up......When you want to detect with headphones and make a video, don't use the adapter. If you want to use headphones and not have audio through the speaker, use the adapter. And if you don't want to use headphones, the speaker will supply audio to both you and the camera. HH Randy
