Having Some Trouble Pin Pointing

DukeOBass said:
Thanks Ray. I just don't know why I'm hitting so many more coins than I ever did with the SE or E-trac.

I've already told you why. You just won't accept the fact that you need more time on the machine and listen for the subtle nuances the machine is telling you.

I will serious try to pay attention to where the red label is on the coil and try to listen for the strongest signal. It could be my hearing. I apologize for my rants. The frustration has gotten the best of me and it isn't who I am. I'm also coming off some medications and my hunting buddy brother-in-law was just diagnosed with leukemia but No excuses.

We all have our bad days Duke. Just have fun and enjoy being outside. Your brother-in-law will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I was just on the phone with my sister to tell her to ask the Dr what type of leukemia it is. They have an Appt with a Hematologist on Monday. The brother in law has been tired for the past 2 years and his bones ache. It took them all summer to finally figure out what was ailing him. I understand that people can live with this disease for many years if it's the "right" kind. It's just a combination of things that have me out of sorts. A big tipping point was the forearm and wrist pain since switching machines.

Duke.......I actually had wrist issues when going from the XS to the E-Trac. Once going to the CTX, I have not had any wrist issues at all. I use a very relaxed grip with the CTX, maybe that is why I haven't; had any wrist problems. I just loosely grip the handle with the lower three fingers and have the thumb and forefinger underneath up against the bottom of the display. That is more or less to stabilize the machine when going from right to left. I had used Minelab Explorers or E-trac for 10 years or so before the CTX, pinpointing for me has been basically the same, with coins on edge have always been off center of the pinpointed location....It all just take some time to figure out. Good Luck..........

What I found to help the wrist and hand problems when I used the E-Trac was wrapping the grip with "wound tape" (found in the drug department of stores) and then wrapping that with padded bicycle handlebar tape. I have some arthritis in my hands and it made it easier gripping the somewhat larger grip (did not have to squeeze so much)
