There not much gold here in ohio but this is some of the small stuff mxt will pick up http://www.findmall.com/read.php?25,829651,830003#msg-830003.But there are people on forum who hunt gold and a guy in alaska he uses mxt and other machines and makes some nice gold finds.Probably post question in subject matter get more answer ask Monte or Larry or Nancy.Hope this helps some.Prospecting mode on mxt is hard to beat. As a new bee i thank you for the fast reply, i got my new XLT at mikes coin shop in Bakersfield ca. i am going to order the x-max special the 5.3 dd coil
and been reading other post for a week there are a lot of friendly people ,thanks for the links and chart - very useful and Nancy is quite the poster. i know reading the forum -posts will help me to learn this machine...

Thanks Fred. I love the flowers. Those have got to be the most prettiest ones I've seen all winter. I'm thinking if you can grow those in Ohio, why not here???? I might have to do some searching. Thanks again, Nancy
 
Very nice Fred I hunt in relic mode mostly gold rings come in at 45-55 VID Dan

This ring was in October I think, 22 K the stone is not real someone resized the ring and lost the mark also changed the stone, tested with my gold tester.
 
My mother use to have them when I was young and we lived in the "old" 1850's house. Boy, sure wish we had detectors then. They live in the same place, but they built in 1968 and tore the old one down. They used all the dirt from digging the basement for fill dirt. :(( That little town has produced many many old coins for us. And I do mean many! We'll go hunt it every once in a while and Mom will go with us to the neighbors. You stay warm........ Nancy
