Has anyone modded their cibola with GB knob?

well it kept me distracted until I could get some sleep as not to think about the dentist , wow like 6 needles to get it numb enough to pull that big buck tooth out, what an experience give me cib mod drama's any day .

this what my face feels like :punch:

and I know no one cares and I look like no one cares oh dear :punch:

but really the Cibola is a great detector in mild ground without a GB sure has done the righty by me.

so yes fellas thanks for the distraction helped me out

GB or not ya still gotta get down there and dig the stuff out so have fun chasing the ring.

and thanks Sven and others for the info maybe one day I will have a crack at it WHEN HELL freezes over

still had a ball myself.

I thought about grabbing a Compadre so if I drop it in the creek, I haven't dropped much. The summer drought makes it fun to walk the creeks around here....

Yeah, I saw the waterproof attempts, seems easier to go buy another Compadre if I drop it lol

Great machine!!!
My best find with all my detectors was with the compadre. In fairness, I would have found that half dollar with a kids bounty hunter lol. Just happened to be using it, which happens alot.
I was gonna do the coil change mod, but decided it's better to keep my lifetime warranty and just buy the 5.75 model lol.

It's all your fault. I picked up a Compadre today with 5.75 concentric. Raining here, but on an air test, while a silver quarter or dime is around 6 inches, a ladies gold wedding ban gets around 7, a mens graduation ring hitting 8 pretty solid.

Exactly what I wanted for the creek beds this summer.

Awesome

I'm sorry for getting you to buy such an awesome detector! !!
I'm sure you will love it and have many great finds with it!!

Why would you say it's running 12 instead of 14?

Because it does?

A Compadre runs 12khz according to Tesoro website.

I just checked, with battery, it weighs 1 pound, 13 ounces.

Awesome

Oh I'm sorry, forgot which thread this was for a minute. My apologies.
Yes it's 12 kilocycles lol.
Just a really nice detector to swing. No settings to worry about but disc to thumb, if you hunt that way. Or just set, beep, dig.
I find myself grabbing it more and more for its simplicity. And unless you have horrible ground, they tune them pretty hot out of the box.
I bought mine new so I'm not touching the insides at all. I live it just the way it is.
Gonna have a run with it tomorrow maybe. Nice relaxing and fun hunt.
I really need that 5.75 model lol.
I do have the 5.75 coil for my Bandido but it's not the same simplicity.
Yeah its suer light and for me with using the tesoro roll, you can really learn it's disc circuit.
Please update and make a thread with your progress and other questions!!!

P.s. the reason I was confused is this is a cibola thread and forgot I mentioned the compadre here.
Haha cibola runs 14khz.

It's all good brother. Just funnin with you.

Now get to work on a simpler way to waterproof a Tesoro!

Thought about hanging the control box around my neck, but supposedly the constant flexing of the cable will quickly break it.
