While they are all fairly scarce, the 1806 is the most common later date Draped Bust half, and the 1825 quarter is fairly common as well, although I have found neither of these types of coins here in the US.

Rare no.......very hard to find, Yes! We didn't have a lot of population back then.......waiting for you Irish to show up still!!!! Most of our early stuff was heavily used (worn heavily) and our collector base was almost nil until the ending year of our mint producing Large Cents. All of a sudden a huge spike in collectors AND....if it wasn't for European "exporting" of our earlier coins, many quality and high grade early coins just wouldn't exist in today's collections. Us Americans love coming to the UK to find the stuff at the huge coin shows. (COINEX/London especially.) Make no mistake......rare findings indeed, and big congratulations to you!

Funny side note. If it wasn't for the Irish rejecting British minted small copper, we would have not had much small denomination coinage. In the mid 18th century, we spent it gladly.... occasionally find it today! So....kind of a "back at ya!" (I guess) and.... another Thanks! Good luck to you and post pics! Cool.

Don, that Walker is one awesome find too and can never get over it's beautiosness! Scott

thanks for the info. will post pics this weekend. waiting on a 15 x 12 coil , I'll be heading back where i found the American coins when it arrives.
unfortunately most Irish and British coins i find here are copper and always badly corroded. oldest find so far is a 1465 Edward iv silver penny.
