Had a great week!

I went detecting 4 times this past week because of the high surf that accompanied the storms in California. Fortunately, there was not the widespread property damage that residents had feared. Detecting-wise, it was one of the best weeks I ever had and I found my first 2 gold rings of the year. Thanks to all you members who have posted advice on detectors, scoops and techniques that shortened my transition from lake hunter to beachcomber- it's a whole different world! HH!

Good work! Hey, did you happen to find the car that that key goes to?

I plan on hitting some low tides this next week myself. You hunting in AM or Disc?

No but that key sounded like a car- it was such a big target. I use a PI machine so there is no discriminating although I am learning that the "double beeps" are a pretty reliable means of separating trash from treasure. HH!

Hi Goldak; Way to go. I tried to go out today but couldn't due to family. But great stuff. Keep finding stuff like that and I'll move in with you hahaha. Anyway; Later. PEACE:RONB :clapping:

Congratulations, good finds and good times. That's what its all about.

Good haul. And if that little pile of a few hair pins is all the trash you dug, it's a great haul.

I wish that was all the trash I found. Dumped most of it before taking the picture, however, I did discover that close to the water I was finding very few hairpins and nails. Most of the trash was higher up in the lighter sand. I'm also getting better at listening for those double beeps! HH!

Man you did have a good week, fine job there, I've had to wait on the waves to settle down, but there is a another storm tuesday , maybe bad ,may not. Gene

Thanks Gene! Yes, I heard that more rain is on the way plus we have some really high and low tides this weekend. Could be good! :biggrin:

wow nice finds..very good..:clapping::detecting:

Sometimes those double beeps will surprise you and the trash that gets trapped in the lighter sand can include those small, light weight engagement rings and lightweight gold chains, and the occasional diamond stud earring.

When signals thin out in deeper water move in and clean up some of the trash and see if it may be hiding some goodies!

Fine looking rings there Friend,

CJ

Thanks CJ, I have not actually hunted in the seawater yet. All my beach finds have been in the wet sand. I've had waves rush in up to my waist but then I wait until they go back out before digging. I have yet to get a signal and retrieve it while wading in the water. I've done it at the lake thousands of times but not at the ocean with the new PI machine. Maybe tomorrow's low tides will give me that opportunity. HH!
