Grey ghost or Sunray headphones

Kevin3

Member
Was getting ready to order some grey ghost but heard they have a screwed up pitch with E-Trac. Anyone know if this is true?

KILLER BEE !!! I have gray ghost on my other phones but I cant believe the performance and comfort of KILLER BEE headphones .

Kevin, the old style gray ghosts were not my favorite. I just bought a set of gray ghost platinums and they are the best sounding phones I have ever used with any Explorer. I tried my older black widows and they sounded mushy and not nearly as crisp as the new platinums. Lots to consider with the phones you mentioned. Leather muffs, cord length, and etc. I thought the Killer Bee Hornets were a great headphone if you want a "full sized" earcup. Also, grey ghosts have an upgraded cord which stretch longer and don't seem to have memory.

I never used the Sun Pro Gold's ( always heard really good things about them ) but I used my Gray Ghost Ultimate's with my E-Trac - non stop for 5 or 6 yrs. - great sound quality and comfortable.

Then I decided to try a set of Killer B Wasps - WOW ... great sound - more compact - much lighter and a lot easier to take off and put back on all day.
Another big plus is that the cord on the Killer B's is a little longer than the Gray Ghost's - I'm 5' 8" and for the first time I was able to stand up with the machine sitting on the ground without pulling it over !

Give the Killer B's a try - I'm sure you'll be glad you did !

Good Hunting !

Forgot to mention in my post above ... another real nice plus about the Killer B's is that the ear muffs are made of leather - not vinyl like most manufacturer's use.
The vinyl muffs on my Gray Ghost's dried out and cracked after about 5 years ( ended up cutting my ear ) bought a new set of muffs from the company for approx. $15.00 - $17.00 shipped.

Good Hunting !

There is nothing wrong with Gray Ghosts NDT . They have the same tones as if you weren't using headphones . Just turn all the way up on volume and stay there . I have 4 sets , no point to other phones.
