graveyard hunting: yes or no?

Thanks steve and you're absolutely right! I'm endinf this thread as of today..... Thanks buddy!

I'm happy to end it but just recall that it started only to hear others opinions and why. I posted ethical questions but further stated my personal actions in specific to staying outside a fenced graveyard. If you will note I tried to put question marks after things like the peanut shell issue. It was only a question!! There are many religious and spiritual viewpoints in this world to consider. I never said I personally found the big shade trees inviting......It was posed as a question also. You fail to see how it ties together. I don't disrespect the dead. Hunting in a graveyard is disrespect to me. That's why I don't do it. I don't care what the living think means just that. The feelings of the living are not the question, the question is whether or not to respect the dead. By simply respecting the dead you offer no insults to the living. But you failed to see that angle.

hunting in graveyards is blasphemous, and inviting the "beast" into your life!

I feel I need to step in once again and say that in addition to all the thoughts and feelings voiced by so many folks on this really touchy subject, that it would be my wish that all these folks would read my own personal, and downright harrowing life and death experience with an old man hell bent on killing me because he only "thought" he had caught me digging in the cemetery where his "ole Mama" was buried. It was posted in the "Metal Detecting Forum" , JUNE 15, and is a true experience that happened to me many years ago. It should be enough to convince even the most naive of us that there are some things that are not to be partaken of, "PERIOD,"! and that we best not go there. Of course we all know the world is full of those DAs' that always show up thinking it will not happen to them., "SH?? HAPPENS" is no idle saying and speaks for itself ! All the more reason we all need to pass the word and have this worn out (to some) discussion from time to time in order to enlighten any of the new folks, and some old ones too, that happen to get the opportunity or urge to venture off into those situations where they could wind up in a situation where they have no choice but to face some very unplesant consecquences.Nuff said, and HH to all!
