GPZ 7000 Using Same/Simiilar Housing To CTX 3030

The GPZ is a PI. ZVT is a technology they are using to enhance the operation. ZVT is NOT a brand new operating principle.

The thing I noticed in the pictures and manual is the two piece lower shaft.

CTX one is too long for airline travel in a carry-on and also have to have a large check-in bag for it to fit into.

One piece long CTX shaft is expensive, Hate to think what a 2 piece GPZ shaft set would cost as an alternative for air travel?

It wouldn't work because the coil mount is completely different from the CTX.

The shaft from the 7000 can work with the CTX..... I'd post a link to a post on it but it is on another forum..... Steve H's Prospecting forum can show you it will work and give you 6 extra inches..... I'm afraid of what the cost would be......

Doesn't having an additional 6 inches on your shaft put a strain on the coil cable [sub]

as well as your marriage[/sub]

I doubt it would hurt unless you completely stretched the coiled cable out which is doubtful, especially if you are only using an inch or so of that 6" additional length. I run with my lower shaft fully extended now and could use just an inch or two more when using the 18" coil. IF the price isn't to high I may try that shaft assembly, otherwise when I'm out of warranty, I'm cutting my lower shaft and adding length to it myself.

Edit: No you won't hurt the coiled cable, in its relaxed state it reaches the end of the standard CTX lower rod, I grabbed my connector on the spare shaft with the 18" coil and it easily stretched out a 12-15" and was far from fully stretched.
