GPX-4500 for beach use?

Tony said:
I use an SD2200v2 on the wet sand/damp sand and it's as quiet as a mouse....depth is superior to anything else that has been over the beach.

I use a big 18" mono (silicone sealed at the cable strain relief) and a nice canvas control box cover protects the box (ends as well).

The results are VERY satisfying....:surprised:

I haven't needed to use a DD...but these are for my local conditions. Sure I dig some deep trash but guess what else comes up from the 16" layer...big, deep gold.

I do this hunting after our summer. The first early storms of winter will take most of the light junk and sweep it way out to sea.

Digging is easy and the rewards are worth the effort.

I say give it a go....you might be surprised as well.

Update.....Eric Foster's older Deepstar PI does go deeper than the SD. I did some side by side tests with both machines. 15% depth advantage to the Deepstar.....we have a new king of the beach in the depth department.
